I
was in my backyard in the peak of summer last year, 2007, when I came
upon this tiny little baby lizard in a small flower pot in some aloe
leaves. He was camouflaged, but I managed to spot him.
This little lizard was so young it did not run right away. It was so
tiny, it was almost transparent. So lucky for me I had my camera, and
was able to snap these pics. I used the macro setting and was able to
get within inches of this little guy to snap some images.
You can see at one point he is sitting on top of a horizontal wooden
dowel, his head was smaller than a dime. I took pic after pic, and luckily
was able to snap a few dozen. These baby green anole lizard pics are
no national geographic material, but I thought they came out really
cool. So I decided to put them here and tell the tale.
Eventually the little guy took off, I at no point tried to touch him
or disturb him in that manner. I often wonder if he is now one of the
bigger lizards running around in the yard this spring, as anole lizards
do live a few years.
